A verse-locked parallel New Testament study Bible from Truth Unredacted Publishing. The 1769 Oxford King James stands in the left column. James Moffatt's 1913 The New Testament: A New Translation stands in the right. Every verse begins on the same baseline. Where Moffatt has no equivalent for a King James reading, the right column is left blank on purpose. The blank is the evidence.
Four centuries ago the King James translators called their work a revision, blessed later workers, and asked why the kingdom of God should be bound to syllables. In 1913 James Moffatt answered them. He was not a committee. He was one Glasgow scholar-a parish minister turned Oxford professor of New Testament Greek-working from Hermann von Soden's Greek text. He put the Greek argument into the literary English of his own century, at the speed of thought.
In 1922 Hodder and Stoughton printed Moffatt's New Testament in official parallel columns with the Authorized Version. That pairing disappeared from the trade. For more than a century, no new Moffatt / King James parallel has been available. This edition puts the comparison back on the page.
What you will notice at once- John 1:1. and the Word was God beside the Logos was divine.
- Romans 9:5. The King James attributes the doxology to Christ. Moffatt turns the blessing to the Father.
- Philippians 2:6. thought it not robbery to be equal with God beside did not snatch at equality with God.
- Matthew 26:26. This is my body beside it means my body.
- John 14-16. Moffatt's 1913 book relocated those chapters. This parallel keeps the King James address and notes his published order.
- Later King James readings. Verses in the 1769 Oxford text that are absent from Moffatt's Greek leave an empty right-hand slot.
None of these choices is hidden in a footnote. They sit in the right-hand column. You are not asked to agree with Moffatt. You are asked to see what he did.

This book is not a replacement for the King James Bible and not a commentary in disguise. It is a parallel study New Testament. Read a chapter on the left, then the same chapter on the right. Then read them across. When the right column goes blank, look at what the left column is still saying. When a familiar phrase turns, decide on the line.
Does a modern rendering bring you closer to the original Greek? You no longer have to take anyone's word for the answer. The left column keeps the familiar wording. The right column gives the New Testament in modern English from the Greek-not a committee product, and not a paraphrase. The evidence sits on the page.
