Kalkiism Is Not Communism
Kalkiism replaces the concept of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) with Gross Domestic Requirement (GDR). In this system, everyone has a job-including women managing households-and earns the same hourly wage, whether they are a president or a banana farmer, a doctor or a rickshaw puller, a movie star or a cameraman. This hourly wage is measured in units of time, and there is no traditional money. Naturally, there is no cash. The new currency is the time unit: when you work eight hours, you earn eight hours. Goods and services are purchased at prices expressed in seconds, minutes, or hours.
Kalkiism fosters a vibrant market economy. This new system elevates human-to-human cooperation to unprecedented levels, unleashing a Cambrian explosion of productivity, innovation, and abundance. Imagine a high standard of living for everyone-one that is equal or greater than before but universally accessible. Is this a problem? Not at all. Gross Domestic Requirement (GDR) ensures that abundance reaches everyone-every family, every hamlet, town, village, or city, and every country.
The vibrancy of Kalkiist markets will surpass anything we have seen before. So, is it a market economy? While it will feature extraordinarily vibrant markets, it is fundamentally a Kalkiist economy. Unlike communism, which promised equality but delivered poverty, scarcity, and dictatorship, Kalkiism will deliver unprecedented democracy. It will eliminate poverty entirely.
Communism and capitalism, for all their differences, have more in common with each other than they do with Kalkiism. Kalkiism is neither. It is fundamentally different-innovative and transformative.
