Book 2 in the Detective Patrone Series is a stand-alone story with a blast from the past featuring hockey lover, dog owner and gritty cop Joe Patrone.
When an old informant from his days on the Narcotics Division is giving him a hot tip of a double homicide detective Patrone is drawn back in to the world of drugs. The informant, Mouse, is also a former classmate from highschool and Joe Patrone is sent back on a trip down memory lane, to a time where he too got himself in trouble with the law, stealing cars and getting into fights. Patrone does not know what to believe at first but decides to try to protect his informant and former classmate at all cost, which causes friction between him as his partner. But should he trust a junkie?
Short but entertaining, reminded me of an episode of some of my favorite crime shows on TV. I'm looking forward to reading the next installment in the series. - Amazon review
