Herbert John Hayes, Jr. was a wood sculptor who created an impressive body of work after retiring from a career in engineering in the U.S. Navy and the aeronautical industry. His work has been praised by many but never sold. Influenced by his uncle, George R. Warrek, a renowned sculptor in his own right, Hayes always remembered what George told him. Let the wood guide you - just start carving. Hayes passed away in February of 2024, and this is the first publication of his body of work. The proceeds from the sale of this book will support HatchSpace, 22 High Street, Third Floor, Brattleboro, Vermont.
