The Journey explores the ascent of a wanderer, everyman, toward a better world. The journey is facilitated by unique epistemological understandings of life that have a rich history and found important expression in German genius 200 years ago. This genius reached a highpoint in the art of Franz Schubert, most notably in his major instrumental compositions, epic works each of which was inspired by poetry.
In the face of the opposites of love and sorrow, hope and despair Schubert created a synthesis that reflects the sometimes hidden best of Christianity, constituting a unique kind of liturgy for The Journey.
