With a unique and altogether fetching style, JC & Angus 1782 by new author Dwight Harris is historic fiction as its absolute finest. Epic and sweeping, this story has style, character, and tail-and not necessarily in that order. Charming and robust, it is an amazing account of life in America after the Revolutionary War as told by a Cairn Terrier named Angus and his owner JC Sundin, a staunch Presbyterian Scot, who owns and operates the Happenstance Inn and spends his spare time helping old friends and the new government. Highlighting life near Pennsylvania and Virginia, after the war is won with Ben Franklin in London negotiating a peace agreement, the rest of the country walks an unsteady path to secure amity and accord. At the epicenter of this burgeoning reconciliation is the Continental congress being helped by a thoughtful JC and his furry fierce-witted, four-legged friend, Angus.
