James Finlayson was best known as Laurel and Hardy's most famous nemesis, but his acting career goes well beyond his films with them at Hal Roach Studios. This study examines his days on both Scottish and American stages before he transitioned to film comedy. His most important roles came at the Mack Sennett Studios, the Hal Roach Studios and RKO. From 1917 to 1951 he could be seen in over 200 motion pictures. This book is a detailed account of his long, storied career.
