Irish Luck is a gripping crime drama that intertwines the gritty underworld of organized crime with themes of loyalty, redemption, and personal transformation. Written by Douglas Rocco Gismondi, the screenplay follows Cole Greco, a former high school wrestling champion turned mob enforcer, as he navigates a treacherous world of betrayal, violence, and moral conflict.
The story opens with a tense drug deal at the Mexican border, where Hector Gonzales, a coerced Border Patrol chief, allows three black SUVs carrying mobsters to pass unchecked. The deal, involving Italian mobster TJ Lombardi and flamboyant cartel leader Miguel Chappo, spirals into chaos when a homophobic outburst from a security guard triggers a deadly shootout. Frankie, Cole's childhood friend, narrowly escapes. Meanwhile, Jerry, another mob associate, seizes the opportunity cash grab that sets off a deadly chain of events.
Cole is haunted by a tragic accident during his high school wrestling days. His life in the mob, marked by violence and moral compromise, contrasts with his past as a disciplined athlete driven by dreams of glory alongside Frankie. On Redondo Beach, Cole meets Ally and her son Kevin, sparking a connection that offers a glimpse of a life beyond crime. As he balances his burgeoning feelings for Ally with his dangerous obligations, Cole uncovers a conspiracy within his organization.
Through intense interrogations and strategic maneuvering, Cole exposes dark secrets.
Irish Luck is a tale of friendship, hard-earned redemption, and the pursuit of a second chance, set against the backdrop of a brutal criminal underworld.
