This book includes the information you will need to be successful in building a single story, single bedroom, single bath home that is suitable for housing yourself, your in-laws, rental tenants, or guests. It is basically a 'backyard' house that is meant to be a second structure on the property. Included are floor layouts, measurement drawings, costing list, finance hints, elevation drawings, furniture placement suggestions, breaker box and wiring suggestions, plus code and inspection information. Not Included:
This book does not include the architectural or the site plans, those have to be done by yourself or a professional architect. It is not a 'sales' tool to get you to purchase expensive plan books, as some small house books do. It does NOT teach you how to solder, nail, plaster, shingle, paint, or do any of the other building techniques you shall need for each of these subjects fill manuals that are hundreds of pages in length. The author has written books used by professionals, government inspectors, and trade schools about roofing, painting, electrical wiring, and building fences and retaining walls; these four subjects include over 800 pages of detailed construction information. Table of Contents & Index:
