A fantastical love story that runs oceans deep.
The year is 1975, and seventeen-year-old David Griffin has been pushed to the brink. His devout parents have disowned him for being gay and sent him to live with his aunt Victoria on the isolated coast of New England. Her husband, Morty, was the only relative who ever loved David as he was - but Morty is gone now, lost to the sea, and grief has exacerbated Victoria's abusive tendencies.
David, drowning in his own grief and depression, finds himself rescued by a mysterious stranger: Ichthys, a swimmer he meets down by the docks. Unbeknownst to David, Ichthys is also an outcast, a mythical being who's been exiled from his underwater world. As the two continue to meet by the water, Ichthys helps to heal David's wounds (both physical and emotional), and a faerie tale romance ensues.
But all faerie tales harbor darkness. When locals start disappearing, their mutilated bodies washing up in the bay, it becomes clear that Ichthys isn't the only mythical being lurking in these waters. Faced with threats both above and below the surface, David and Ichthys must come together to fight their personal demons - or their
love could be lost to the waves forever.
