Scritto in prima persona, con la voce stessa di Salomone, il Testamento di Salomone è uno dei testi più strani e influenti giunti fino a noi dall'Antichità . È il più antico racconto completo del Sigillo di Salomone, la fonte prima dell'intera tradizione dei grimori - la Clavicola di Salomone e l'Ars Goetia - e una sfilata di demoni dal nome preciso: Ornias, Belzebù, Asmodeo, Onoskelis, Obyzouth e i trentasei spiriti dello zodiaco, ciascuno interrogato, catalogato e incatenato.
La maggior parte delle edizioni in commercio non è molto più di una semplice ristampa della traduzione di Frederick Conybeare (1898), consegnata al lettore senza alcun contesto. Questa edizione è diversa.
