The book, Insecurity of the Social Security Systems in the World, explains how important social security is to man and its effect in case of its deficiency in any society. It contains five chapters. The central theme of the book is the primacy of man's social security. The social security of man is a primary need which must being given unalloyed attention. It is very paramount because it is what actually makes man a social being. It further contends that it is the primary responsibility of government to protect the social wellbeing of its citizens. The book elucidates that the question of social security systems has become so important because many states especially those in third world countries have show apathetic attitude towards it. Lack of social security has marred many underdeveloped countries. Many states unconsciously have attributed their economic and socio-political woes to corrupt practices. Corruption is a societal induced social phenomenon. Man as a social being will not engage in any asocial act without a cause.
The book went further to explain the effects of social insecurity in human society. The book attributed many societal ills to lack of social security which has in the long run degenerated into acts of moral perversion. Finally and perhaps the most important, the book provided cues on how to secure the social needs of man and tackle other societal problems. But before societal problems can be tackled the social wellbeing of the citizens has to be guaranteed; otherwise, other activities are mere waste of time and resources. This is because all societal problems are caused by man in his search for social security. In other words, the book contends that the question of social insecurity has to be addressed first before any other thing if society needs peace and sustainable development.
