Destruction lay everywhere, a grim testament to the havoc wreaked by the infection. We experienced our first lone, shambling walker, a haunting figure that seemed to embody the despair around us. The slow, decaying corpse was the early stage of the infection, its skin stretched tightly over exposed bones, giving it a grotesque appearance.
