Neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, are a major and increasing public health issue due to their high prevalence and impact on quality of life. They involve progressive and irreversible neuronal loss, leading to cognitive and motor dysfunctions. Alzheimer's disease is mainly linked to cholinergic system impairment, while Parkinson's disease is associated with dopaminergic neuron degeneration. Current treatments are mostly symptomatic, using acetylcholinesterase inhibitors for Alzheimer's and monoamine oxidase B inhibitors for Parkinson's. However, their effectiveness remains limited. In this context, AChE and MAO-B are key therapeutic targets. Computational approaches, including molecular docking, QSAR, and computer-aided drug design, provide efficient tools to accelerate the discovery of new drug candidates while reducing cost and time. This work aims to design and evaluate novel compounds with potential activity against these diseases using integrated in silico methods.
