Nevertheless, he's the King.
Alongside a deeply unimpressed Donkey, the King sets about tackling the important problems of modern life using questionable logic, unnecessary committees and something called The Wingle Protocol, which nobody understands but everyone agrees sounds important.
There are carrots. There are meetings about meetings. There's a fixed-price time machine. William the Conqueror somehow gets involved with ChatGPT. Artificial intelligence encounters natural stupidity. Common sense makes several appearances before apparently deciding it has better things to do.
Across 104 chapters of increasingly confident nonsense, the King and Donkey stumble through government, technology, social media, subscriptions, experts, consultants, aliens, black holes, cake that may never have existed and several situations that could probably have been avoided by doing absolutely nothing.
Occasionally, beneath all the nonsense, something worryingly sensible slips through.
This is unfortunate.
I'M THE KING. DON'T ASK WHY. is an absurd, satirical comedy about bureaucracy, technology, modern life and humanity's extraordinary ability to make simple things unnecessarily complicated.
It contains absolutely no useful information.
