Adam Hammond is at home with his wife, Addy, and his son, Tate, when the end of the world begins. Sirens rise from the city below the suburbs, warning that something has changed, something deadly. As Adam and his family watch live TV, a street reporter is murdered by an unseen force, and they know the danger hunting for flesh in the urban blocks will soon reach their neighborhood.
They flee for the mountains, hoping distance and elevation will keep the creatures away. But survival is not that simple. When they arrive in the Rockies, they discover the monsters have beaten them there. Worse, the threat waiting for them is not limited to the things that only come out at night. A nearby family in a cabin like theirs hides a darkness of their own, one that may be more dangerous than the beasts who bury themselves in the ground during daylight.
When an awful incident forces Adam to seek justice, he meets someone who needs his help desperately. She needs him, and he needs her, but she may not be who she claims to be. Her secrets may present the greatest danger of all.
Night after night, the monsters come to Adam's door disguised as the loved ones he has lost, begging to be let in. They torture him, but not nearly as much as the truth the girl reveals.
In the end, the secret she carries will devastate him more than anything that came before.
Be prepared. Be ready for the coming dystopian horror and hope you can survive it. Adam is ready. If everything goes his way, in the end, he will still be here. Will you?
