I Capuleti e i Montecchi is an Italian opera (Tragedia lirica) in two acts by Vincenzo Bellini. Felice Romani wrote the Italian libretto after Luigi Scevola's play Giulietta e Romeo, itself based on the story of Romeo and Juliet. It was first performed at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice on 11 March 1830.
