When Beryl Collins' father died, leaving her alone, she turned for advice to his lawyer, a man she had, all her life know as Uncle Harkness. His sister had written, asking him to find a capable young lady who would live in her home as companion and secretarial help. Soon Beryl was leaving her city home in the east for Addie Harkness' in the small, rural town of Klaochuck, situated in the beautiful mountains of Idaho. Harkness House concealed the secrets and pasts of those who lived within it's walls. Beryl became fascinated by the variety of daily happenings. It was in Klaochuck Beryl fist saw the mysterious man who wore a yellow feather in the band of his hat, who sat easily astride a fidgeting appaloosa stallion, his eyes assessing every line of her body with interest and just a touch of arrogance... WHO WAS HE?
