This is not a self-help book.
Self-help books are supposed to help.
Also this book is specifically not for people who think of the perfect comeback during the argument, respond calmly under pressure, and then move on with their lives like emotionally stable adults.
This is for the rest of you.The people who replay conversations in the shower, improve their memory until it becomes suspiciously flattering, and somehow leave the bathroom having won a debate that ended yesterday.
If someone immediately came to mind, that's unfortunate.
If no one came to mind, that's significantly more unfortunate.
There is a very specific type of person who will read this book, laugh a little too hard and then insist it reminds them of a friend. We support that level of denial.
Keep this away from the coworker who sends I should have said this six hours later. The sibling who quietly rewrites history. The friend who has delivered at least one closing argument to a shampoo bottle.
And, for legal reasons, probably keep it away from yourself.
Although if you've made it this far, that recommendation may already be too late.
