Instead, this book focuses on the timeless structures of spoken Brazilian Portuguese - the ones used across the whole country, by all generations, in casual and semi-formal settings alike. The structures you hear every single day but almost never get taught.

The book is divided into four blocks of five chapters each, moving from core structures to expressive, native-sounding patterns. Every chapter begins with a vocabulary section where each word or phrase appears in short, realistic dialogues. At the end of each block, a longer dialogue brings everything together - with full translation, so you can review carefully.
Three chapters also include QR codes linking to short pronunciation videos. These are not a pronunciation course - they cover specific phonetic features that show up constantly in real speech and that most learners have never been told about: sounds that change between writing and speech, and that help explain why understanding Brazilians is so hard at first. The videos are in Portuguese, with Portuguese subtitles, so they also serve as listening practice.
This book works best alongside other resources, not as a replacement for them. Think of it as the missing piece - the guide to how the language actually lives in people's mouths.
