THE HOLDING CELL CALLED FREEDOM is a sci-fi novella that explores the conditions of a futuristic Earth-population under the control of a ruling power. The first paragraph: The city of Babble was encased by a dome, had been such for one hundred years. It was the hundred year anniversary of the Encasement. Babble was festive. There were many banners, and parades, confetti being thrown from the balconies, and the Spiritual were all making pilgrimage to the Center. In the center of the city, there was a labyrinth, where the ones who followed The Way, would walk and wander, losing themselves in the convoluted flexions, in search for the ultimate ancestor, she that (they believed) survived within the inner glade.
