...A hilarious crime thriller romp about high school, high fashion, and high calibre weapons. It's like Mean Girls meets Pulp Fiction. -- OFF THE SHELF
This is an impressive take on mob hitmen. You have never seen the likes of this as Bella and MaryBeth leave a wake of death and great fashion sense as they carve their way through mob bosses...The legend of the Hit Girlz will live forever. -- FIRST COMICS NEWS
This was fun, cute, and super quick to read. I loved the character dynamic between Bella and MaryBeth. I highly recommend this graphic novel, especially if you have Kindle Unlimited -- Ashlyn Stelmach, 5 Star review. GOODREADS
I am most drawn to the comics social critique. Even though it's a crime/noir on the surface, I feel that it is fundamentally a damning critique of the cruel narcissism and blind worship of empty celebrity that pervades modern society. -- WINNER DRUNK DUCK AWARD BEST MYSTERY/CRIME NOIR 2017
There is entertainment value with this read. The art has a realistic quality and does a good job of presenting the action and the spirit of the characters -- THE SEQUENTIAL TART
IN THIS CRAZY ANDY WARHOL MEETS KIM KARDASHIAN WORLD OF EMPTY INSTANT SOCIAL MEDIA CELEBRITY, BELLA AND MARYBETH ARE ABOUT TO GET THEIR 15 MINUTES...OF INFAMY.
BFF's Bella and MaryBeth are just typical teenagers dealing with typical teenage stuff: the cut throat popularity contest of high school, the social minefield of social media--Boys! Their one saving grace is their unusual after school job--Being hired assassins for the mob.
Popularized on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and other social media, Bella and MaryBeth's exploits as the Hit Girlz becomes headline news. Making the deadly duo pop culture sensations admired and imitated from high school, to hollywood, to the world of high fashion, while causing an outcry from parents and politicians.
As Bella and MaryBeth bask in the glow of their new found celebrity with shopping sprees for high fashion clothes and designer shoes, the police detectives investigating their case tighten the noose around them, and their high profile success as the gangland assassins the Hit Girlz may be their undoing with the very underworld that employs them. And the price they pay...Could be their lives.
