The chapter on the Japanese occupation left me trembling. My grandmother survived the death marches eating tree bark, and seeing that history written down properly for the first time meant a lot. The Malacca Sultanate chapters were fascinating too. Large print made it easy to read through even the most painful sections. Amina T.
