The closer the company sale moves toward closing, the harder it becomes to keep family pressure separate from professional judgment. Evidence can be preserved, edited, withheld, or weaponized-and the person who tells the truth first does not always tell the whole truth.
At the center of this character-driven women's fiction novel is a volatile mother-daughter relationship shaped by old injury and present demands. Mara is not searching for a simple villain or an easy reconciliation. She is trying to understand what happened without surrendering her voice to either parent-and without allowing loyalty to decide what counts as truth.
Blending domestic suspense, psychological family drama, family secrets, and corporate conflict, Her Version of Us follows a competent woman forced to apply her professional standards to the people who taught her how dangerous a story can become.
