He Knew He Was Right is a novel written by Anthony Trollope, first published in 1869. The book tells the story of Louis Trevelyan, a wealthy and well-respected man who becomes increasingly suspicious of his wife's relationship with a family friend. Despite his wife's protestations of innocence, Louis becomes convinced of her infidelity and refuses to believe anything to the contrary. This obsession leads him to take drastic measures, including separating from his wife and taking their child away from her. Meanwhile, his wife struggles to prove her innocence and regain custody of their child. The novel explores themes of jealousy, trust, and the destructive consequences of stubbornness and pride. It is considered one of Trollope's most psychologically complex works and a classic of Victorian literature.I have said that nobody is to be admitted. Louis has driven me to that. How can I look the servant in the face and tell him that any special gentleman is not to be admitted to see me? Oh dear! oh dear! have I done anything to deserve it? Was ever so monstrous an accusation made against any woman! If it were not for my boy, I would defy him to do his worst.'This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
