This hilarious account proves that Danny Key is a TRUE GRIT (G.R.I.T.S=Guy Raised In The South) because if I didn't know better, I would swear that he and I were raised on the same block by parents who were related! He tells us in his Preface that these stories are fact, fun, fiction and fantasy all rolled into one big mess! Only he knows which are fact, fiction and fantasy but I can attest that ever single story is a fun read! Reading the antics of his family reminded me of sitting in my grandmother's back yard listening to adults talk and whisper and laugh about things and people we children weren't to supposed hear about. Reading about his experience with the wringer washer brought back memories of when my own arm got caught in the dreaded contraption-several times! If you grew up in the 50s or early 60s in the South, this will seem like the story of your own family. If you grew up later, you will see how it really was for your parents or your grandparents. If you grew in the Nawth, read it anyway! You're going to laugh, I promise you, bless your heart!
