Xachary Biddle is an average ten year-old boy with average ten-year old problems - difficulty with math, a teacher who treats him unfairly, and a bully who taunts him for looking different. To escape the daily horrors of school, Xach retreats into his imagination where he pretends to be a valiant astronaut fighting strange and deadly aliens to save the world from total destruction. When a mysterious earthquake devastates his school and brings him into contact with a wounded stranger bearing a mystical key, the boy who used to daydream of aliens and distant planets actually finds himself stranded on a planet light years from Earth and surrounded by alien creatures both friendly and deadly. His only hope for returning home lies within the stranger's key - an object of immense power that unlocks the Hall of Worlds and holds the secret to all life throughout countless universes. Not only must Xach learn to harness the powers of the key in order to complete his journey home, but he must protect himself from the vicious attacks of Count Milton, an evil wizard who will stop at nothing to possess the key and its power. He doesn't realize it, but the fate of Earth and countless other worlds rests in his hands.
