These weren't The Gods, big names like Zeus, Jupiter, Amun, or Odin; these were the gods, strictly lowercase and decidedly lower class, nothing more than a Z-list of ragtag minor deities with dubious origins and nebulous powers such as the god of hair products and hosiery; the goddess of greeting cards and unexplained stains; the goddess of gratuitous nudity and plaster repair; the god of stationary and stemware--you get the idea: a bunch of punks.

Their mission? To hijack the Creator's new project (Earth and its galaxy) and run things-and (for reasons to be revealed) the Creator is all for it! Also troubling the waters is Lucifer, who wants the saints and angels to strike for better pay and working conditions-then he says the quiet part out loud and riles the anger of everybody, including The Big Guy Himself.
