The Giant Scissors by Annie Fellows Johnston is a classic children's book that tells the story of a young girl named Joyce who lives with her wealthy aunt in New York City. Joyce is fascinated by a pair of giant scissors that her aunt keeps in her sewing room, and she longs to use them to cut out a dress for herself. When Joyce's aunt goes away on a trip, Joyce decides to take matters into her own hands and sneaks into the sewing room to use the scissors. But when she accidentally cuts off a lock of her hair, she realizes that the scissors have magical powers that can make her wishes come true.As Joyce begins to experiment with the scissors, she discovers that they can bring both joy and trouble into her life. She uses them to create beautiful dresses, make her friends happy, and even help her aunt's business. But she also learns that the scissors can be dangerous if used carelessly, and that sometimes the things we wish for are not what we really need. The Giant Scissors is a charming and imaginative tale that teaches children about the power of imagination, the importance of responsibility, and the value of learning from our mistakes. With its engaging story, lovable characters, and timeless themes, it remains a beloved classic of children's literature.1898.
