On a stormy night, young Brandon Miller screams in terror, prompting his mother to rush to his room. He claims to have found a snake head in his bed, but his brother Michael denies being responsible. To calm them down, their mother tells them a spooky story about a boy named Timmy, who was often bullied at school but carried around a toy skeleton called Ghoulie. After being lured into an old, abandoned house by a group of kids pretending to be his friends, Timmy is tragically crushed by a falling tree branch during a storm, and his soul is transferred into Ghoulie. The legend says that Ghoulie returns every Halloween, eager to play with children. As Mrs. Miller finishes the story, Michael admits to putting the snake head in Brandon's bed as a prank.
