Getting Ready for the Start 0f....Classical Concert Musings makes no claim to be a definitive, all encompassing, comprehensive review of a cross section of the major works of varied top historic classical music composers. It is exactly what the title suggests-my musings on a particular work, a particular composer, and a particular performance. It can more accurately be called a series of vignettes of one person's thoughts about a particular work.

There are thirty-two mini-reviews. The focus is on one or more of the major works of the giants from Bach to Shostakovich. That also includes two who have in recent years gained wider recognition as classical music masters. One is Duke Ellington. The other is Florence Price.

The reviews convey my half century plus passion, love, and appreciation of the works of the old masters. Getting Ready for the Start 0f....Classical Concert Musings is my capsulized take on an evening of what has always been one of delightful listening at the concert hall.
