Dieses Studienbuch diskutiert zentrale Fragen der gegenwartigen medizinethischen Debatte. Die Reihenfolge der Kapitel richtet sich nach dem Ablauf des menschlichen Lebens. Joerden ist Professor fur Strafrecht und Rechtsphilosophie und Leiter des Interdisziplinaren Zentrums fur Ethik an der Europa-Universitat Viadriana in Frankfurt/Oder. Er ist Mitglied der Akademie fur Ethik in der Medizin in Gottingen und im Beirat des Interdisziplinaren Zentrums Medizin-Ethik-Recht der Martin-Luther-Universitat Halle-Wittenberg.
