A Battle for Justice, a Fight for Survival: Four Extraordinary Women Stand Against Corruption in 1968 Miami Beach
In the heart of Miami Beach, 1968-a city teeming with corruption, greed, and political manipulation-four remarkable women are thrust into a life-or-death struggle against a ruthless real estate developer known only as the Austrian. These women are no strangers to adversity: Helen, a survivor of Auschwitz; Rachel, who orchestrated the daring rescue of 2,500 Jewish children from Nazi Germany; and their friends, Mary and Lilly. Together, they've built a life of friendship and resilience. But now, they face a new enemy who will stop at nothing, including murder, to steal their cherished home.
As the Austrian's sinister plot unfolds, the women turn to Helen's nephew, Joshua Logan-a once-promising lawyer now battling his own demons of alcoholism. Can Joshua overcome his inner turmoil to save his aunt and her friends? While fighting for their home, he's also up against a powerful defense lawyer who controls Miami's judicial system, and a prejudiced judge who seems determined to see his client fail. The stakes are high, and the odds are stacked against them.
In this gripping crime mystery, Norman Shabel masterfully weaves a tale that spans from the horrors of World War II to the sun-soaked, corrupt streets of Miami Beach. With rich characters and a heart-pounding storyline, this novel is a must-read for fans of international crime thrillers.
