Dennis Smith, a promising young scientist, investigates geological anomalies inside the bluff. When a local snoop widely despised for making pornographic gestures at citizens is found murdered on top of the abandoned university building, suspects abound. Two FBI agents sent to investigate how a ham radio postcard from a local recluse has appeared on a Mars Rover during a presidential press conference instead become embroiled in the murder investigation. Throw in a nasty little alien named Klatoo, and a half-alien beauty named Yasha, and the stage is set for a climatic showdown in a prehistoric cave under the bluff.
