Agricultural and food policies provide direction for the global, regional, and national food systems. They are the result of interaction among a range of actors, each seeking to defend their own interests or those of their allies in light of the challenges that arise. From their status as women and stay-at-home mothers, these two leaders in the food sector have overcome all stereotypes, discrimination, and the bad faith of actors in this sector to conceive and implement a public space-in general-within a post-liberal world, that is, within social structures and organizations. Jürgen Habermas's theory of communicative action-a tool for both cultural and institutional analysis-has indirectly facilitated the sociocritical insight of these leaders, who are re-evaluating gender and its strategic role in the inclusive and deliberative development of policies. From now on, the struggle for women's rights is no longer defined by demands alone, but rather by governance in its plural form.
