Cet ouvrage explore la pensée et l'action d'une femme dont l'engagement ne se réduit ni à la charité conventionnelle ni au militantisme politique. Formée intellectuellement par la philosophie, la théologie et les grandes traditions spirituelles, Soeur Emmanuelle a forgé sur le terrain une sagesse incarnée, enracinée dans la proximité quotidienne avec la souffrance et la résilience des plus pauvres.
