L'ordre du monde n'y apparaît ni comme un miracle, ni comme un fait brut, mais comme l'effet d'une auto-régulation immanente: la Nature se stabilise, se maintient et se structure par le jeu statistique de ses fluctuations.
Au coeur de cette perspective se déploie le modèle de l'être oscillant, qui rompt à la fois avec la métaphysique théologisée de la tradition et avec l'ontologie matérialiste classique.
