La santé au travail est un aspect important sur le lieu de travail. La prévention des maladies et le maintien du plus haut niveau de bien-être physique, mental et social des travailleurs dans toutes les professions sont essentiels. L'efficacité et le rendement au travail dépendent en grande partie de la santé et de la condition physique des travailleurs. Plusieurs pays étaient soucieux de maintenir leur rythme sur le front industriel et de maximiser le rendement des travailleurs en accordant une attention particulière à leur alimentation et à leur santé. Il est essentiel que leur état de santé et leur état nutritionnel soient maintenus à un niveau optimal. La présente étude a été menée dans l'industrie du latex dans le district de Kanyakumari, au Tamil Nadu, en Inde. Dans cette industrie, des travailleuses âgées de 20 à 40 ans et appartenant à quatre catégories professionnelles différentes, à savoir les fabricantes, les chloratrices, les trieuses et les emballeuses, ont été sélectionnées pour l'étude. Leur situation socio-économique, leur statut professionnel, les risques liés à leur travail, leur mode de vie, leurs habitudes alimentaires, leur état de santé et leur état nutritionnel ont été évalués. Une formation en nutrition leur a été dispensée pendant trois mois à l'aide de divers modules éducatifs et son impact a été évalué en analysant leurs connaissances, leurs attitudes et leurs pratiques.
