Les Parodies Du Nouveau Theatre Italien is a collection of parodies performed at the Théâtre de l'Hôtel de Bourgogne by the Comediens Italiens Ordinaires du Roy. Published in 1738, this volume preserves the wit and humor of popular Italian comedies as they were adapted and performed for French audiences.
This edition includes the engraved musical airs used in the performances, offering a glimpse into the musical dimension of these theatrical productions. A valuable resource for scholars of French theater, Italian comedy, and 18th-century performance, Les Parodies Du Nouveau Theatre Italien captures a vibrant moment in the history of European theater.
