Histoire Du Prieuré De La Magdeleine Lez-orléans De L'ordre De Fontevraud, meticulously researched and presented by Ludovic de Vauzelles, offers a detailed historical account of the Magdeleine Priory near Orléans. This significant work delves into the priory's history within the broader context of the Fontevraud Order. Enriched with justificatory documents and five detailed copper-engraved plates, the book provides invaluable insights into the religious, social, and architectural aspects of the priory during its time.
Vauzelles's careful scholarship illuminates the priory's role in the religious life of the region and its contributions to the larger Fontevraud monastic network. Scholars of French history, religious orders, and medieval studies will find this a valuable resource.
