Histoire De Saint Louis, Suivie Du Credo Et De La Lettre À Louis X, by Jean de Joinville, offers a captivating glimpse into the life and reign of King Louis IX of France, later canonized as Saint Louis. This historical account, meticulously brought to publication by N. de Wailly, provides invaluable insights into the 13th-century world, blending personal narrative with significant historical events.
Joinville, a close companion and confidant of Saint Louis, recounts the king's devout faith, just rule, and participation in the Crusades. The text includes not only Joinville's biographical narrative but also the Credo (Apostles' Creed) and a letter addressed to Louis X, further enriching our understanding of the religious and political landscape of the time. This edition serves as an essential resource for scholars and enthusiasts interested in medieval history, religious studies, and the enduring legacy of Saint Louis.
