The book explores his leadership, the historical context of 13th-century France, and the religious environment that shaped his role within the Abbey of Molesme. Auguste Pétel delves into the available historical records to illuminate the key events and challenges faced by D'essoyes, offering readers a glimpse into the daily life and spiritual significance of a prominent religious figure during this period.
