Ancien Statutaire D'alsace, compiled by Nicolas de Corberon, is a valuable historical document presenting a collection of legal acts and notarized records gathered in 1738 and 1739. This compilation focuses on the statutes, usages, and local customs prevalent in the province of Alsace during that era.
The book offers insights into the region's legal framework, providing a detailed account of local practices and norms. It also includes a notice on emphyteuses, colonges, and perpetual leases, shedding light on land tenure and agricultural practices. This historical work is an essential resource for legal historians, researchers of Alsatian history, and those interested in understanding the complexities of customary law in 18th-century France.
