This essay aims to investigate the concept of freedom in Franco Battiato's work.
What is freedom? He speaks about it extensively in his songs: freedom as responsibility and freedom as evolution stand out as essential ones, however, freedom of languages, freedom of expression and freedom from definitions, are significantly present too and not only in the lyrics.
