The Following of Christ is a spiritual diary written by Gerard Groote, a Dutch theologian and founder of the Devotio Moderna movement in the 14th century. The book contains Groote's reflections on his personal spiritual journey and his teachings on the Christian faith. It is divided into two parts: the first part focuses on the importance of humility, self-discipline, and the imitation of Christ, while the second part explores the role of love, prayer, and meditation in the spiritual life. Throughout the book, Groote emphasizes the need for a deep and personal relationship with God, and encourages readers to live a life of simplicity, devotion, and service to others. The Following of Christ is considered a classic of Christian spirituality and has been widely read and studied by believers of all denominations. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
