To fight a fire from an aircraft, it was not only necessary to have a perfect knowledge of our aircraft and flight techniques. Understanding how a forest fire breathes and feeds, identifying its weaknesses to inflict maximum damage, and knowing how the Human Factor influences our decisions were as important subjects as flight techniques.
We must keep in mind that this is a combat flight, and as such, it includes other elements that affect the flight. The speed with which you sometimes have to change or make decisions, the tension that typically surrounds this work, always in an emergency but which you must not allow to affect you, the diet, which, if disordered due to the situation, will undoubtedly end up affecting our flight conditions.
Only a perfect understanding of the machine we are flying and the type of work we do with it will provide the calm needed to fully utilize our five senses. In this work, you will learn all the necessary flight maneuvers to fight a fire from an aircraft, along with all the skills required of a pilot in this field
