Finlay is a Perfect Pig, though he doesn't know it yet. He's too busy trying to be somebody else!
Meet Finlay, a very fortunate pig who has everything a pig could possibly need: fresh water, nutritious food, a smart and comfortable pen and his very own mud pool.
So why does Finlay wonder if he could be happier?
One morning, he spots Derren the magnificent horse galloping across the farm and decides that life must be better as a horse.
And once that doesn't go to plan, Finlay tries to imitate Cynthia the cat, Barry the dog, Evelyn and Emily the cows and four lively hens - Ava, Ada, Aubrey and Ally - convinced that each of them has something he doesn't. Surely Finlay would be happier if he were:
graceful like a cat or
loyal and playful like a dog or
musical and swishy-tailed like a cow or
feathery and lay eggs like a hen?
Finlay tries his very best, but discovers that being another animal isn't as amazing - or as easy - as it first appeared.
And that's when his farmyard friends help Finlay see himself in a completely different way.
Because while Finlay may not be able to gallop like a horse, dance like a cat or lay eggs like a hen, he has plenty of astonishing qualities of his own.
His friends notice his rosy pinkness, soft hide, long eyelashes, incredible nose and all the other things that make Finlay uniquely Finlay.
At last, Finlay discovers the most important lesson of all:
You don't have to be someone else to be special. You only have to be wonderfully, perfectly YOU.
