Many of the names included in this new book are names people will recognize but others may be new. The main emphasis was to include film people either serving in the military and those who used their time or talents to entertain and increase morale both at home and overseas. There are more movie and television actors and actresses then other occupations and organizations that were a part of the war effort.
Carol A.'s chose the most names tied to World War I, World War II, Korea War or soon afterward. Although some celebrity names tied to Vietnam and more current wars are also included. Based on the author's favorites and the amount of military service background found, the size of each bio varies greatly. Some celebrities gave interviews or wrote autobiographies sharing their experiences.
Carol A. also included a few non-celerity entertainers, like sports figures, both veterans and non-veterans, who were directly involved in the war / wars Those included give readers insight into the vast scope of any war. Some worked on secret government programs or helped fellow soldiers, boosted morale, raised funds or aided war support programs.
