The First Book of the Iliad, Battle of the Frogs and Mice, Hymn to the Delian Apollo, Bacchus, or the Rovers, and Second Book of the Iliad is a collection of five works written by the ancient Greek poet Homer. The first book of the Iliad tells the story of the Trojan War, focusing on the anger of the Greek hero Achilles and the devastating consequences of his wrath. The Battle of the Frogs and Mice is a humorous fable about two groups of animals at war. The Hymn to the Delian Apollo is a poem praising the Greek god Apollo, while Bacchus, or the Rovers, tells the story of the Roman god Bacchus and his followers. Finally, the Second Book of the Iliad continues the story of the Trojan War, detailing the Greek army's preparations for battle. This collection, first published in 1831, offers readers a glimpse into the rich and varied world of ancient Greek mythology and literature.Translations From Homer. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
