When Jamie Tyrone walks in from the cold with city boots, whiskey in his chest, and trouble in his lungs, she sees him clearer than anyone in his famous father's house ever did.
What follows is a love story measured in bread and coal, mended shirts and unmade beds, a silver spoon no bigger than a child's, and the terrifying question of whether a man raised among actors can accept the ordinary life a woman of extraordinary courage lays at his feet.
